Building and construction materials producer Pretoria Portland Cement (PPC) on Thursday advised that the Competition Commission had conducted a search and seizure operation at the premises of the major cement manufacturers.

The operation, carried out on Wednesday, relates to a broad investigation into the cement industry.

“Whilst reserving its rights, PPC is co-operating with the Commission,” the company said in a statement to the JSE.

Shares in PPC closed at 29.43 rand on Wednesday.
