Use refills instead of originals when your cartridges are empty.  Keep the original though because if your machine fails you can show the supplier that you were indeed using OEM cartridges.  Are you into gaming?  Swap games with your buddies or club and buy 1 game.  Get your kids to play outside or take them to the park instead of the movies.  It'll cost a fraction.
