That's because we feel empty inside, so resort to 'retail therapy.' Yes, advertising does exert pressure, but if we were really secure in who we were, we wouldn't need to have 50 pairs of shoes, or a big 4 x 4 and a Tag Heuer watch. It is not only the TV but all media mediums. Companies exploit children like this and \"groom\" them to be brand concious when they should just be kids.
