The Monetary Policy Committee of the SA Reserve Bank (SARB) left interest rates unchanged on Thursday.

The key repo rate remains at seven percent while the prime rate stays at 10.5 percent.

The SARB has since December 2008 cut its repo rate by 500 basis points to support the economy, hit by its first recession in 17 years.
